Joan Rivers Can Help With Difficult End-Of-Life Conversations

Posted on September 11, 2014 | by ahrenstech

Our mortality is often very difficult for us to discuss even with the people who need to know our wishes the most.   Too often I see clients who think that estate planning means they are just dealing with who gets their stuff when they die.  Who gets what when is just one aspect of estate planning.  With an aging population that tends to live well into their 80’s, planning for disability is often times more important than planning for who gets what.  This article contrasts Joan Rivers’ end of life situation with several others that were bitter and messy.
